Braxton is an affectionate dog that just wants to be loved in return. But his first family surrendered him to the Visalia Shelter without telling him why. Poor Braxton was heartbroken. He spent day after day in a kennel, and he only seemed to get more devastated as time went on. In fact, he soon seemed so depressed that the shelter staff were concerned. They had to find a way to cheer him up.

But all Braxton wanted was a family to care for him. It didn’t seem like he was going to find that where he was, so the shelter reached out to START Rescue. START transports dogs away from at-risk areas to no-kill shelters with empty kennel space. Their dedication has saved many dogs in the past, and they will continue to save many more. They strongly believed that they could make a difference for Braxton. Of course, they were right!

Thanks to donations, START was able to fund a transport to a safer location. Braxton hopped on the transport to Oregon not long after. He had no idea what was in store for him, but he hoped it involved a place to call home. Thankfully, he was on his way to a new life!

Shortly after Braxton arrived in Oregon, he was adopted by a loving family. They love him with all their hearts and he always wants to please them in return. Braxton is so happy now that he seems like a different dog. His sad puppy dog eyes have now been replaced with a beautiful smile. Sweet Braxton deserves all the happiness in the world. But it wouldn’t be possible without the help of GreaterGood, START Rescue, and the iHeartDogs store.
