Bosque Animal Rescue Kennels (BARK) is one of the many organizations that benefit from Greater Good donations.

BARK in Clifton, Texas, is a non-profit animal rescue that provides a loving temporary home for dogs who have been lost, abandoned, or mistreated. They provide plenty of time for the dogs to play in their outdoor space so the dogs will be less overwhelmed when they find a forever home. The rescue cares for about 160 dogs per year, and they always have at least 30 dogs in their shelter space at once.

How Does Rescue Bank Help BARK?

30 dogs at a time is a lot of mouths to feed! So, Greater Good’s Rescue Bank program provides healthy meals for the dogs at BARK. That way, the rescue can use their personal donations for other aspects of the dogs’ care, including vet visits and supplies. Most of the animals were strays or abandoned by humans, so they deserve good meals more than anyone.

“They come in very skinny and malnourished. It’s so wonderful to have name brand quality food at a discounted price to help them and the community who need the food. Most of the dogs are on a twice a day feeding schedule and their quality of life improved dramatically!” BARK wrote.

Without Rescue Bank’s contributions, BARK couldn’t afford to give dogs the level of quality food they do now. Even though their shelter space is in a rural area, many people dump dogs nearby because they can’t afford to keep them. BARK is determined to take in every dog in need and give them a quality diet. The food and care these dogs receive could change their lives for the better.
